Built to train over 3,000 Airmen each year, this enclosed, climate-controlled aquatic complex houses two 50-meter Olympic pools positioned near overhead rolling doors, making it a high-humidity, high-risk zone for condensation and envelope failure. In this environment, airtightness wasn’t optional, it was mission critical.
Above Green conducted whole building air barrier pressure testing, using fan stations over 100 meters apart to properly pressurize the expansive space. We accounted for complex mechanical zones and moisture-prone transitions to ensure the envelope could handle extreme humidity without compromising safety and performance.
The facility passed at 0.214 CFM/SQFT, staying well below the 0.25 threshold. The result: a secure, high-performing environment built to support the demands of Air Force special warfare training, rain shine, or steam.
