Located in the heart of Hayward, California, the three-story, net-zero-energy library and community center has set a new standard for sustainable design within the city.
Working with T.B. Penick & Sons and Knoll & Tam Architects, Above Green worked as an early partner on the project, providing Sustainability Advisory and Construction Administration services.
Our team helped implement sustainable features into the building, including an underground rainwater system that catches and saves 400,000 gallons of rainwater per year as well as renewable energy sources for the facility to produce enough annual electricity through solar generation to offset its energy use.
