Achievement of LEED Green Associate (LEED GA)® & LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)® status, though highly desirable, is rapidly becoming an indispensable collaborative tool as Architects, real estate professionals, landscape architects, construction managers, contractors, facility managers, engineers, lenders and government officials all use LEED to help transform the built environment to sustainability. State and local governments across the country are adopting LEED for publicly and privately owned and funded buildings and many federal initiatives are in place.

Above Green understands that the expertise and needs of this industry and have designed an Exam Preparation & Study Course for Green Associate Exam to address the specific needs of the building industry. We are pleased to offer the following to your Company at your location, as below:

LEED Green Associate (LEED GA)

Course Syllabus (10 Hours Course)

The LEED AP exam is divided into two parts. The first step is the LEED Green Associate exam, for professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice, which denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations. For an Architectural Metals company, LEED GA accreditation is sufficient.

  • Identify the key components of the LEED v4 Rating System
  • LEED Certification process
  • Intents and associated concepts of each LEED v4 credit category
  • Successful LEED strategies and measurements for achieving credit category goals
  • Prepare for the LEED Green Associate examination – overview of  recommended study methods, exam-taking skills and practice questions

Our Prep classes are geared towards understanding the core concepts of LEED and preparing you for the LEED Green Associate exam. Participants will receive training on the concepts that are fundamental to the LEED Rating Systems and will learn successful green building strategies. The training series concludes with an overview of recommended study methods, exam-taking skills and practice questions for the LEED Green Associate exam.

The LEED GA, 10 hour course can be held in 2 days with 5 hours of teaching on each day. Our suggested hours are 10:00 to 12:30, lunch from 12:30 to 1:00, and then 1:00 to3:30 (5 hours a day)

LEED AP BD+C and LEED AP ID+C

Course Syllabus (12 Hours for each Course)

The second step is a specialty exam based on one of the LEED Rating Systems – LEED BD+C or LEED ID+C or others. The candidates need to pass the LEED GA before taking the LEED AP exam. For LEED AP with specialty exams, prior LEED project experience is strongly recommended.

A LEED AP is an individual who possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to support the LEED certification process. Our class focuses with a clear and concise definition of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in order to successfully serve as a LEED AP.

  • Rating System key components
  • key topics for the exam
  • requirements and implementation strategies for each credit and prerequisite
  • in depth coverage of all the 8 modules (BD+C) & 7 modules (ID+C);
    1. Introduction to the LEED AP BD+C or ID+C Exam
    2. Location and Transportation
    3. Sustainable Sites (ID+C does not have this module)
    4. Water Efficiency
    5. Energy and Atmosphere
    6. Materials and Resources
    7. Indoor Environmental Quality
    8. Innovation and the Integrative Process
